Mziki Safari Lodge – North West Province

Set on 12 500 acres of malaria-free bushveld, this exclusive safari lodge is situated in the North West Province, just 90 minutes from Johannesburg and 40 minutes from the casinos, water park and world-class entertainment of Sun City.

Experience true South African hospitality, luxury accommodation, outstanding cuisine and excellent bird and game viewing.  Mziki Private Game Reserve is home to over 50 species of mammals, including elephant, rhino and buffalo, and 372 species of birds (one of the best birding areas in the country).

Meals at Mziki are carefully planned and only the best local produce is sourced. In traditional safari style the day begins with a small, early morning meal of fresh seasonal fruit, cereals, muesli’s, freshly baked muffins and rusks along with percolated coffee and a variety of teas. After the morning game drive guests are welcomed back with a scrumptious “Brunch” served under the Karee-trees in the garden. Snacks are served throughout the day. Dinners at Mziki are served in the thatched Boma by a roaring fire with fantastic views of the game at the lit waterhole.

All the rooms have been designed with the comfort of the guest in mind and are en-suite with private terraces.

Chalets/ Rondavels -
Thatched twin or king-size bedded stand alone chalets/ rondavels each with a lounge, veranda and en-suite bathroom, situated in a semicircle in our lush indigenous garden.

Main Lodge - The rooms are located in the main Lodge building, 2 on either side, facing out onto a sparkling swimming pool, overlooking a waterhole where game drink regularly.

The Main Lodge offers a Cognac Bar and Lounge, with a fireplace.  There are luxury loungers around the large swimming pool, a safe playground for the children and secure parking area

Mziki enhances your bushveld experience with the following thrilling activities. All activities guided by experienced game rangers

Game drives – Take an informative Game-Drive in an open, luxury safari vehicle and witness the wonders of the African bush or revel in the excitement of seeing Africa in a different “light” and take a night drive through the reserve.

Bushwalks – Come face to face with wildlife by walking and stalking the most inaccessible game ´hotspots` which can not be accessed by vehicle and watch unobstructed wildlife behavior. Hear the calls of the wild and feel the dust and heat of Africa beneath the soles of your feet.

Barge Cruise –
Board the ´´Mama Hippo“, an 18ft barge and set out along the ´Hex` river into the Vaalkop dam. Watch game come to quench their thirst and a spectacular array of waterfowl go about their daily business. Kick back, relax and enjoy a sun downer or two!  (Barge cruise is water level dependent. Please inquire about water levels)

Fishing – Mziki has 8 Km of the `Hex` river offer an exciting challenge to both Fly and Bait anglers. Try your luck or skill in catching Yellow fish, Blue and Red Curper, Carp, Barbel and Black Bass. (Catch and release on all fish – for the Fisheagle´s sake!)

Archery and Air Rifle – During the heat of the day, try your skill as a marksman!

The range is situated just behind the Lodge and is ideal for beginners and experts alike.
