Ilala Lodge Hotel is ideally situated on the Zimbabwean side of the mighty Zambezi river, and is the closest hotel to the magnificent Victoria Falls. The falls, recently voted one of the World’s Seven Natural Wonders, are within easy walking distance for guests, as is the Victoria Falls town centre. Wild animals often graze on the hotel lawns and restaurant diners can see the spray of the falls in the background while they listen to the majestic roar of “the smoke that thunders” and enjoy Zimbabwe’s finest cuisine in Ilala’s Palm Restaurant.

Ilala Lodge offers 32 standard rooms and 2 deluxe suites. All rooms have en-suite bathroom with separate shower, air-conditioning, overhead fan, satellite TV and have individual coffee and tea facilities. The rooms are spacious with railway sleeper teak furnishings and patio doors leading onto either open lawn or a balcony where you are afforded a view of the spray of the falls from the upper level rooms.
All standard rooms at Ilala Lodge have got 2 x ¾ beds in a spacious room that is decorated by railway teak. Each room has got an en-suite bathroom all with complimentary soaps , shampoos and conditioners. The bathroom comes standard with a bath , shower and toilet. Standard in each room is an air-conditioning unit that ensures guests have a cool retreat from the heat of the day to relax in. French doors in each room open up to a communal garden. Bottled water is provided in each of the rooms as well as a kettle for the tea and coffee provided.
Deluxe suites are styled in exactly the same way as the standard suite, with railway teak desks and décor, all have a king size bed. All our suires have an en-suite bathroom consisting of a shower, bath and toilet. Each suite has a balcony where guests can enjoy some quiet time on the comfortable furniture provided. There is a coffee and tea station provided along with the bottled water. These suites are bigger and more intimate than the standard rooms.
Travel Documents, Visas & Health Requirements
It is the responsibility of each passenger to ensure that they are in possession of the correct travel documentation prior to departure.

A valid passport is required for all international and cross-border travel. Passports must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after your intended date of return and must have at least 2 blank pages for visa stamping purposes. In certain cases, foreign passport holders require re-entry or departure permits and it is advised to contact the relevant consulate before travel for up-to-date visa and health requirements.
We recommend that all travellers have comprehensive travel insurance from time of booking, and insurance packages are available for purchase though our offices.
