Rovos Rail is offering a special three-night journey between Pretoria and the Maluti Mountains. After
travelling across the imposing Drakensberg Mountains, enjoy a game drive in Nambiti, a Big Five
bush retreat with incredible biodiversity. Experience the Golden Gate National Park, nestled in the
rolling foothills of the Maluti Mountains and known for its deeply eroded and golden sandstone cliffs
with caves and shelters displaying San rock paintings. Visit the picturesque town of Clarens and the
Sandstone Heritage Trust, which boasts an impressive collection of transport items, before
traversing the broad grasslands of the high plateau to journey’s end in Pretoria.

Day 2

Enjoy a game drive in the Nambiti Reserve, a private Big Five bush retreat set on 20 000 acres of malaria-free bushveld with incredible biodiversity including savannah, grasslands, thornveld and tall acacia trees.
Lunch is served in the dining car/s.
Enjoy an excursion to Wagon Hill to learn about the historic battle that took place here.

Day 3

09h00: Visit the Golden Gate Highlands National Park
12h30: Enjoy lunch in the small and picturesque town of Clarens situated in the foothills of the Maluti Mountains.

17h00: Return to the train.
